Trawl Features

WESMAR Trawl Sonar...Your Partner in Fish Detection

WESMAR’s Remarkable Trawl Sonar has many powerful features for mid-water and bottom trawling. It is a third wire system that combines forward looking and profiling in one head rope unit. Its unique split screen feature allows measurement of the net opening, profile of the fishing circle, door spread and other gear geometry.

10 High Resolution Screen Displays

1. Forward 360 degree circular scan
2. Forward expanded horizontal scan
3. Net profile 360 degree full screen.
4. Forward scan / net profile
5. Net profile / sounder
6. Net profile / sounder with zoom, depth and rate graph
7. Forward scan / sounder
8. Forward scan / sounder with zoom, depth, and rate graph
9. Forward vertical scan / sounder
10. Full screen down sounder

Rugged, yet lightweight design for the toughest conditions. One man can carry this well built, lightweight trawl sonar.

New Catch Sensor. With WESMAR's new PCS70 completely encapsulated catch sensors, both sensor identity (one, two, three or four) and response rate (slow and fast) can be quickly and easily magnetically selected. The PCS70 is equipped with a removable battery pack, so it is not necessary to remove the catch sensor from the net for recharging. The unit is a solid, compact block with no openings to leak or fail and is tested to depth in WESMAR's high-pressure test chamber.

Net Profile 360 degree Full Screen. This remarkable screen display gives a full 360 degree geocentric view of the trawl opening. Watch your trawl react to turns, tides and cable adjustments. It provides immediate notice of collapsed doors, crossed weight chains and other related problems. Profile the bottom and monitor footrope bottom separation.

Built to Survive and thoroughly tested every TCS770 is first tested at the water depth of 1800 meters without ever leaving the plant. WESMAR's in-house, high-pressure test chamber makes this possible. Few manufacturers have this capability.

Level Indicator displays pitch and roll position of the headrope unit. Check the effect current has on your net. This feature is also used to stabilize the forward looking transducer.

Beam stabilization compensates for changes in attitude and orientation of net. In both the scanning sonar mode and the profile mode.

Three profile frequencies are available for a long-range 110 kHz transducer for large mid-water nets and a high resolution, 180 kHz transducer for mid size nets and 310 kHz for small bottom nets.
